Fields to complete and legal review required

The parts marked [in square brackets] need to be filled in with your real details. Since the business operates as a UK sole trader while also working with Hungarian and other EU clients, it's worth having a solicitor review this before publishing – this document is a draft and does not constitute legal advice.

1. Who processes your data?

  • Trading name: Amethyst Nexalune
  • Legal form: Sole Trader (registered under UK law)
  • Data controller: [FULL NAME], acting as a private individual, sole trader
  • Registered address: [UK ADDRESS]
  • Email: [EMAIL ADDRESS]
  • Website: amethyst-nexalune.co.uk

This notice explains what personal data the above controller processes in operating this website, and what rights you have in relation to that.

2. What data does this site process?

This website does not use its own cookies. Analytics (Google Analytics) only runs after you give consent – see Section 4.

  • The contact form on the homepage sends the name, email address, and message you enter to a third-party service called Web3Forms, which forwards it to the controller by email – see Section 4.
  • Some "Request a quote" buttons open a mailto: link instead – this launches your own email client, and the message goes directly between you and the controller; the site itself does not store or see it.
  • The sound on/off button and the scroll-triggered animations run entirely in your browser and don't send any data anywhere.
  • If you place an order via the form, by email, or through a consultation, the data you provide for that (e.g. name, email, project description) is processed by the controller for the purpose of performing the contract, for the duration of the contract, and afterwards for as long as required by accounting/tax retention obligations.

3. Legal basis and international scope

The controller is a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, so data processing is primarily governed by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. As the service is also offered to clients in Hungary and elsewhere in the EU, the EU GDPR may also apply to the processing of data belonging to data subjects located in the EU.

The legal basis for processing is typically performance of a contract (order, quote, correspondence, an enquiry submitted via the form), consent (Google Analytics, or messages sent voluntarily), or legitimate interest.

4. Third-party services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com). Technically, this means that when the page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which may have access to your IP address as part of that, subject to Google's own data-processing rules.

This site uses Google Analytics (Firebase Analytics) to measure traffic. This sets cookies in your browser and sends data (e.g. pages visited, approximate location, device type) to Google's servers. It only starts if you click "Accept" on the banner shown at the bottom of the page – if you decline, or don't respond, it will not load. Your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time by clearing your browser's local storage (localStorage).

Data submitted through the contact form (name, email address, message) is processed and forwarded by email to the controller by a third-party service called Web3Forms (web3forms.com). Web3Forms processes the data it handles according to its own privacy policy.

5. Your rights and remedies

Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to request information, request rectification, erasure or restriction of your data, and to object to processing.

  • For processing under UK law, the competent supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk.
  • If you are based in Hungary or elsewhere in the EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your own country's data protection authority – in Hungary, this is the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).
